Remembering 14 Years Ago…
I’m forced to admit it yet again: time, indeed, does fly! You know, I couldn’t believe it when I realized that our NGO, Success Attitude Development Centre [SADC] will be clocking 14 this month. But it was not a question of whether I believe it or not. The reality is starring me right in the face: 1995 to 2009.
Yes, we are 14. SADC and the flag ship vehicle driving our mission: SuccessDigest or, to call it the name it later transformed to, SuccessDigest Extra!
I remember clearly what was going on in my head as we prepared to launch the NGO and the magazine. Among what I was thinking were…
l How nice would it be if our dream [that is the dream of both my wife, Esther, and I] to see Nigerians embrace entrepreneurship were to come true?
l How great would it be if men and women who had lost hope of ever becoming somebody had a change of story as a result of contacting the information that we shall be disseminating?
l How glorious would it be if our youths were taught how to get ideas, turn them into business models and become self employed and grow from there into successful business owners?
l How fantastic would it be if housewives could stay at home, become mumpreneurs operating from home and have more time to take care of their children instead of living a life of quiet desperation?
l How wonderful would it be if we could slay the fear of getting started because there was no capital to growing businesses from ground floor up?
And it went on and on like that.
Fast forward to 2009 and you will see that the ever Faithful Father that my wife and I serve, the Creator of heaven and earth, the Owner of everything that is, the Omnipotent GOD, has made all of these things possible.
In fact, He did it more than we could ever ask or think of! Thank you Daddy! You are AWESOME!
This is why, come September 24 – 26, we shall be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate our GOD. The GOD who can use our platform to produce someone like Samson Olatunde, who was an undergraduate facing the same bleak future of joblessness after graduation from the university in January 2007 to become a youth corper in 2009 doing his service in his own company founded by the ideas and inspiration he got from SADC.
Or Mrs. Iyabo Oyawale, a working mother who got dissatisfied with leaving her three young children at home from money till evening while she’s out at work to wake up one day and sacked her boss and living a dream life working at home and making more money than she was being paid as a salary earner.
Those are just two examples of what the Lord had done. Plus the fact today that Nigerians have dropped businessman [which is what they used to call business owners before our SADC and SuccessDigest were born] for entrepreneur, a more dignifying name that we introduced on our platform.
How wondrous and mighty are your work Oh GOD!
As is our custom, we have secured the blessing of two great Nigerians to deliver life-transforming lectures at the anniversary celebration which will also witness the formal launching of Successful Entrepreneurs Club [SEC] and Association of Information Marketers of Nigeria [AIMN].
The men are Mr. Isaac Durojaiye, a.k.a Otunba Gadaffi, the progenitor of the highly successful, internationally acclaimed mobile toilet services and the publisher of the ground-breaking personal finance weekly, MoneyWise and the newspaper column everyone is raving about, Billionaire Capsule, published on Saturdays in the Punch newspaper.
Both Otunba Gadaffi and Ayo Arowolo are consummate platform speakers whose insight on the subject they are lecturing on is so deep they are known to have brought their audiences close to tears in the home truths they deliver without pulling their punches.
Mr. Ayo Arowolo will be speaking on How To Derive Maximum Benefit From Taking A Steady Dosage Of Billionaire Capsule on Thursday, September 24 while Otunba Gadaffi will be lecturing on How to Find Riches, Success, and International Fame In A Business Idea Most People Will Not Consider Doing on Saturday, September 26.
