Now That We’re Resting Demystifying The Internet, What Next?

Posted by Sunny Ojeagbase On February - 8 - 2010

I’ve just finished teaching another class of Information Business Marketers, the 6th in the series. And it was FIVE power-packed days of exposition on info-preneuring. No less than 126 attendees spent the week with me. And what a great time we had!

As is usual with this workshop, all the attendees went away from the venue confident that in a short while, they shall return with testimonies of their financial breakthroughs. I was so happy for them!

One recurring theme during the week was: After DTI what next?

As many of you now know, the last Demystifying The Internet [DTI] at SADC is the one we shall be hosting next week starting from Monday.

After that, we are moving on to something much more spectacular. No wonder that the question on the lips of every IMBW-6 attendee was: What is that thing?

Although I couldn’t go into great detail in my explanation to them because some aspects of the ground-breaking initiatve on how, finally, a serious Nigerian can be earning a living on the Internet are yet to be concretized, following are some of the things I shared with them.

I started by explaining that according to our record, we have trained more than 2000 Nigerians on Internet since we started to run Demystifying The Internet alone. That does not include several other how to make money on the Internet courses that we have conducted.

Of all the huge number of people who did these courses, only a tiny few have succeeded in breaking the barrier of actually earning money online. As a matter of fact, the total per centage is less than five.

This is definitely not good enough. And for us at SADC, being the first organization in the entire country that started teaching Nigerians how to earn a living on the Internet, this outcome is not acceptable to us.

We knew that something was definitely wrong. But what was it? And what could we do about it? To find answers to these questions, we embarked on a fact-finding mission, asking questions, watching closely the few who managed a breakthrough and what they did right.

At the end of the day, we were able to place our finger on what the problem was. This may surprise you. But the fact that doing business on the Internet was presented as something you could do on the side with little or no effort and you will be filling your bank account with cash laid the foundation for much of the failure that many have experienced.

Looking back, our discovery was similar to my own discovery before my wife and I started our sports publishing buiness back in 1984. Before we came into the business, several other people had tried to make it work but couldn’t.

None of the efforts made before us lasted longer than three editions. Most of them didn’t go past the first issue. So I asked the question: why? The answer, as I provided in my first book, How To Make It In Nigeria Building Your Wealth From Ground Floor Up, was that those who ventured into sports publishing ahead of us took it as a hobby, something they could operate on the side, while doing other things.

Another question I asked myself was: if a sports publication is not different from a Daily Times, which was still in existence then, why didn’t the publishers depend on free lancers to contribute articles for it and wait for printers to use their day offs to handle the printing of the paper?

The way out was clear to me after this line of thinking. If it must be done, then we had to set up a publishing company along the lines of other newspapers in the publishing business. And that was it. It was rough and tough. But GOD saw us through. And we can see the result today.

The story of the Internet and all the efforts we have made about it so far is looking the same way like that of sports publishing at the time we came into it. And it appears to me that the same solution that we came up with, that cracked the code of sports publishing, will also crack the Internet code.

This is all I was able to share with the IMBW-6 attendees. And this is all I can tell you about this new initiative to empower young and old Nigerians who are looking for a way out of economic strangulation that they find themselves.

Would we be able to make it?

Here is my unequivocal answer to that crucial question: YES, we will by the special grace of GOD Almighty.

Why am I so sure? Okay. Let me share this story with you. It will convince you beyond any shadow of doubt.

Between October 1999, when we first organized the first ever Internet Marketing Seminar in Nigeria and towards the end of 2005, so much of our attention was focused on empowering Nigerians to join the rest of the world in taking advantage of the new technology that was just emerging which was creating an incredible opportunity for under-20 and under-30 Americans to become first, millionaires and, later, billionaires, almost overnight.

We didn’t want our people to lag behind the same way that we did when computers were first introduced in the early seventies. So we went all out for the knowledge and started to spread it. By the middle of 2005, it was becoming obvious to us that we were not making the right impact.

So we started to think of a way out. If you are engaged in any venture and there is no visible evidence of improvement, then something is definitely wrong. There must be a way out. And we must find it. On May 1, 2006, we tested an idea that we had been experimenting with, that definitely looked more viable than an entirely Internet-based business model, that could produce result.

The name we gave that idea was, Amazing 4-step Secret System For Creating Unending Cash Flow That Keeps Putting Money In Your Bank Account Non-stop . . . Even When You’re Sleeping. Guaranteed!

That was the idea that Paul Oghoghorie and others grabbed that turned their financial lives around.

The early success of the system and the almost instant result it produced encouraged us to research the subject even deeper.

The result was Information Marketing Business Workshop [IMBW]. By April 2008, we were ready to place the brand new, almost stress-free income generator, in the hands of Nigerians.

Right now, at least 1,500 Nigerians have attended this workshop. And we have on record quite a good number of them that have earned their first million doing the business!

We are very happy with this outcome and proud of what we were able to achieve through the help of GOD. But we do not intend to give up all the efforts we had made propagating the Internet. The Internet is a viable platform for creating wealth. The trouble is that it is too technical. It requires much more seriousness than we had given to it. But now, with the new initiative we have come up with, that will soon be a thing of the past.

We are grateful to GOD Almighty who has been so faithful in giving us fresh ideas all the time. With this new initiative, Nigerians at last, will soon begin to brim with successful Netpreneurs just as we now have a growing population of successful info-preneurs in the country.

Watch out for more information on this new initiative.

PS: Remember, for you to be a part of this initiative, it is required that you must have attended the Demystifying The Internet seminar. That is why it is important for you not to miss this last edition of  DTI.
