I’m compelled to write you this memo for reasons that will soon be clear to you. I was recently doing a routine check with our advertisement department, trying to find out if we were meeting the needs of our readers [in respect of the adverts we published in the multiple streams of income newspaper] and our advertisers [in terms of delivering the results they expect from their investment in the adverts they place in the paper].

The response I got was satisfactory to me except on one issue. I was told that some of our advertisers were bellyaching about our UNCONDITIONAL Money Back Guarantee [MBG] Policy.

According to our advert executives, our advertisers claim that some of our readers are taking them for a ride and that we, SuccessDigest Extra! publishers, are taking side with them.

Nothing can be further from the truth.

Yes, we are resolute on our policy that if an information marketer publishes a statement in their offer that if a customer bought their product and they are not absolutely satisfied that they will give them a refund, then that promise MUST be kept.

There should be no ifs and buts. That is our policy. And we are not going to change that.

SADC is also making offers to our readers. And virtually EVERYTHING we offer is backed by the same unconditional MBG. And our public can testify to the fact that in all of the 14 years that we have been in existence [our 14th anniversary is in September], we have never reneged on this trust-building policy.

Not only do we make refunds each and every time we were asked for it, we also do, from time time, make refunds on items that our customers buy from us, for which they do not legitimately expect to be refunded.

An example is when we recently reviewed our offer to members of our community to partner with us in hosting SADC Seminars in their locality. To enjoy that privilege, they were supposed to buy an application form for N5,000 which is non refundable.

That condition was put in place to eliminate those who are not serious about the offer that will end up wasting our time.

However, months after the programme was launched, only our Seminar Hosting Partner [SHP] in Abuja was able to host our seminar successfully. Other locations have not been able to pull it off.

As a result of this, we reached a decision last May to refund the NON-REFUNDABLE N5,000 that each prospective SHP paid for our application. Remember, they didn’t ask for it because they couldn’t possibly ask for it because the terms were clear from the beginning that the payment was non-refundable.

Why did we do it?

To build trust. To gain our customers confidence. To prove to them that it is NOT about their money first but about their interest, their satisfaction and, above all, to give meaning and commitment to our bold statement that we are out “teach them how to make more money with peace of mind” and not help them to waste it or lose it.

So, we are not preaching what we don’t practise.

If our readers can confidently buy into offers made in the publication, knowing that they will not be ripped off by so-called marketers who know nothing than to look for avenues to scam people, then marketers with genuine offers will prosper enormously through the offers they make in the publication.

I’m aware that just as you have scammers masquerading as info marketers, so also do we have fraudulent readers who would love to ‘steal’ your information and ask you for a refund. But a well-trained marketer, such as those I personally teach how to do the business at my Information Marketing Business Workshop [IMBW], know how to eliminate such rogue and tire kickers from messing up with their products.

So dear advertiser with genuine offers, you have nothing to worry about with our Money Back Guarantee policy. In the long run, if you learn to abide with it, you will prosper beyond your fondest imagination.
