How To Stay Connected To Your SOURCE (7)

Posted by Sunny Ojeagbase On November - 18 - 2009

If you’ve been paying attention to me in the last three instalments of this series on Simple System That Pumps Money Into Your Bank Account Like Invisible Paymaster, you clearly understand what tithing and sowing mean by now and why it is absolutely important for you to start doing them consistently.

So let’s move on to the remaining two items on our 7-point key to staying connected to your SOURCE.

The two items are Believing in your SOURCE and Saying with conviction what your SOURCE says you are [in His Word].
Believing in your SOURCE

To believe is to accept as true. That short sentence makes it abundantly clear why believing in your SOURCE is indispensable. What you don’t believe can never be useful to you. To remain connected to your SOURCE, you must believe in Him.

You’ll recall from the previous instalments that I identified GOD as your SOURCE. Now, listen to what His Word says:
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to GOD must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him,” Hebrew 11:6 [emphasis mine].

You cannot please GOD unless you believe [that is, trust] in Him. So what must you do to believe in GOD? Simple. You must have faith. And what is faith? It’s, according to Hebrew 11:1 “…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Something hoped for! Evidence of things not seen! What a tall order!
Yes, tall order because we all grow up with the notion that we have to see something first before we believe it. We have come to accept that as the truth. We say, “seeing is believing.” But here we are and the Bible is saying we have to believe what we have not seen.

No wonder the concept of faith is so difficult to explain. And, even much more than that, difficult to understand. Of course, this is why most people have problem with it.
You tell a friend about something that appears incredible to him, and the next thing you’ll hear him say is: “Did you see it with your eyes? Were you there when it happened?”

If you say you were not there but that you believe that it took place, he would not believe what you’re saying unless he had a certain degree of trust in you. Even if he trusted you, he would still have lingering doubt about what you told him.
Can you see the challenge here?

But the All-knowing GOD knew that we would have problem with having faith. So the Holy Spirit inspired Apostle Paul to pen the solution in His Word which is found in Roman 10:17. It reads: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD.” Wonderful!

So now we know. To develop faith, we have to keep hearing the Word of GOD. In fact, Proverbs 4:20-22 exhorts us: “My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.”
Joshua 1:8 even ties meditating in the Word to having good success in life. Listen to what it says: “This Book of the Law [the Word of GOD] shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

That’s it. What happens to you when you start to receive payment consistently from the Invisible Paymaster? That’s right, you will begin to have evidence of good success in your life! What a revelation! What an awesome truth!
So get your Bible and start soaking in the Word of GOD. Meditate on it day and night.

Let it become a part of you. Do not allow it to depart from your eyes. Read it [from the Bible and from books written by men and women that GOD has used and is using].
Listen to it [get an audio version of the Bible and listen to it and get tapes of anointed men of GOD]. Watch it [on video and DVDs and on television]. Do it over and over.
Let me sound a note of warning here. You must allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to the man or woman of GOD that you listen to. For, as Jesus Christ says in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.”
“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord’ have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”
Whatever anyone is saying about GOD –– and when I say anyone, I mean practically anyone –– you must subject what they are saying to the Word of GOD as it is written in the Bible. Any interpretation that contradicts what the Word of GOD says in the Bible is from the pit of hell.
GOD’s Word is settled in heaven forever [Psalms 119:89]. GOD does not change [Malachi 3:6; Hebrew 13:8].
When you do this consistently, then your faith will begin to grow. You will begin to have greater trust in GOD. And GOD will begin to manifest Himself to you. That is how to develop your trust in GOD.
Saying [with conviction] what your SOURCE says you are [in His Word]

When your trust in GOD begins to grow, your boldness about Him, about who He is and what He can do for you, will also begin to grow.

For example, years ago, the things I say and write about GOD today I would not even dare to admit them in the closet of my heart. The reality of GOD as a BIG, BIG GOD, even bigger than I can ever imagine Him to be, had not formed in my consciousness.
Recall the story I shared with you about my early days in business when I said, with all conviction, that if another man, a good friend of mine, did not help me, I would give up my dream of becoming an emtrepreneur.

Today, I know that even the devil cannot make that thought to cross my mind. My Father in heaven has the final say in the affairs of my life. That is the level of my trust in Him today. He has never failed me. And He will NEVER forsake me.
Where did I get that last sentence from? From His Word. Check Hebrew 13:5. Saying with conviction what the Word of GOD says about you may make you sound braggy to people. That’s okay. It’s not you who says so.
It’s what your Father, whom you trust, whom you believe absolutely and whom, when you know how to count your blessings one by one, you’ve discovered will stand by His Word and fulfill every one of it, that says so.
You’re only expressing your confidence in Him when you declare what He says and every devil within your earshot can go and bellyache about what you said.

That should not bother you. Let GOD be true but every man a liar [Romans 3:4].
Okay, that wraps up the keys to staying connected to your SOURCE. Next week, we shall start exploring the third critical part to the system: SELL IT! For unless you SELL what you LEARN and DO, you cannot get paid by the Invisible Paymaster.
