Know Your Source! (3)

IN last week’s instalment on this great series that I guarantee will swing open the door to the place where you’ll be having money deposited into your bank account non-stop, as if you’re being paid by an Invisible Paymaster, I revealed the SOURCE of all that is to you.

If you were like me and most people who have had a genuine encounter with HIM, you’re yet to recover from that encounter by now. As a matter of fact, the experience will stay with you for the rest of your life.

But having that encounter is one thing. The real big deal is connecting with your SOURCE and, even a bigger deal, staying connected. Here is a step-by-step guide to doing both.

As you must have discovered from my testimony which I shared with you in the last edition, the SOURCE of all that is, is known from generation to generation since the beginning of the world as a Covenant Keeper. That is, whatever He has promised in His Word, which is written in the Bible and you believe, He will keep.

Just imagine Him telling me in Mattew 6: 24-33 back in 1974 that I shouldn’t worry about what I would eat. And for more than 35 years, He has never failed to keep the promise even once! He has been supplying all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. He is just awesome. There is none like Him!

So, the very first step is for you to receive Him into your life. Accept Him. Accepting Him means you are going to renounce your ways of doing things before now and make Him the Lord over your soul.

For example, in 1974, I had to make a 360 degrees turn. I stopped betting on pools immediately, for instance. That wasn’t easy, I tell you. I struggled with the temptation for months. It was a real battle. But He made me to prevail because my decision to accept Him and allow Him take control of my life was total.

And that is exactly what you must do if you want to access the provisions that He has made for you. Like me, you will start having money deposited into your bank account non-stop by what will seem to you like an Invisible Paymaster … even while you’re sleeping.

Now, make up your mind and take that step. Make the following confession with conviction: “Lord Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me my sins and wash me with your blood. Your Word says in Romans 10: 9-10: ‘If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.’

“I do that now. I’m saved! I’m born again! I’m a child of the Almighty GOD. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen!”

Having taken that important step, here’s the next thing you should do. Begin to praise GOD for being born again. Really celebrate the fact. This is a huge victory for you as you’ll soon find out. Old things have passed away. You’re starting a new life.

Now is the time for you to look for a church where the Word of GOD is preached and believed in order to start fellowshipping with other believers. There are many of such churches around you.

The next step? Get a Bible. Go out and buy one now. Everything you’ll ever require to make your new birth great is in that book. If you have one on your shelf that had gathered dust, go and get it, dust it up and get ready to go on a ‘studying spree.’

You also need to acquire the books and tapes of anointed men of GOD. I will ask you to start with the books authored by my Spiritual Guides, namely Kenneth Hagin, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and K. C. Frederick Price. Also lay your hands on materials by Rev. Sam Adeyemi and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

That was exactly what I did first in 1974 when I accepted Jesus Christ into my life and again in November 1994 when I rededicated my life to Jesus.

After I got myself a Bible, I started  studying the Word furiously. Then I launched into buying –– and actually reading –– the materials of men of GOD that I could lay my hands on.

And I’ve not stopped that habit since then nor will I ever stop it. I realize now, more than ever before, that it’s more glorious to remain faithful to a loving Father who will go to any length to care and provide for me and be filled with the Spirit of the Fear of Lord, than to be hot about Him today and be cold about Him tomorrow.

I’ve discovered the hard way that, that will not cut it. You have to stay steady and remain committed. If you do that, your life’s story will take a new turn for the better. And from that better, to the best and then to the glorious and then to the miraculous.
