My 6-step agenda to planned retirement, which I enumerated here last week, look simple on paper. But I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not so when it comes to implementing it. That is why I’ve decided to take each one of them and describe what needs to be done to get the desired result.
I start with the first one which is, Decide today that you will not be a liability to the people around you in your old age.

Just how difficult is it to burn the bridge behind you after landing in an enemy territory, knowing that there are only two options left: defeat the enemy and live or be defeated and die?

I found myself treading this path in 1984. I didn’t plan to go about it the topsy-turvy way. I had wanted to attract investors to team up with me in the publishing venture I came up with. I invested the first three months of that year trying to woo investors but there was no luck.

Which is better: planned or forced retirement? That’s easy to answer, you say. But think again. Do you remember any of those trick questions in your school days which seemed to be asking what was so obvious and you rushed to answer them first only to be told by your class teacher that you didn’t get the answer right?

This is one of such questions. Now, don’t get into an argument with me on this. Just patiently read every line that follows. And at the end of it, you’ll see what I mean.

If you read the first instalment of this series which I started last week, then you know exactly what retirement means. The next question I want to address here is: why is planning for retirement so important?

Top on the list of why you must plan for retirement is the inevitability of growing old. Whether you realize it or not, or whether you do something about it or not, each time the clock ticks, announcing the passage of another second on the watch, it’s a gentle reminder that you’re growing older.

Have you ever noticed that it doesn’t cross most people’s mind to think of retirement before it is almost or too late? For majority of people, retirement is always a far away destination, to be arrived at one day in the distant future. And so, they fail to give any thought to it.

And it’s true. Retirement is a distant destination. But because we are always moving towards it each new day, most people tend to arrive at that far away destination without being conscious of how close they are to it.

I’ve just finished teaching another class of Information Business Marketers, the 6th in the series. And it was FIVE power-packed days of exposition on info-preneuring. No less than 126 attendees spent the week with me. And what a great time we had!

As is usual with this workshop, all the attendees went away from the venue confident that in a short while, they shall return with testimonies of their financial breakthroughs. I was so happy for them!

It’s time to wrap up this series that I titled Three Simple Steps System That Pumps Money Into Your Bank Account Like An Invisible Paymaster. And we are going to do so by revealing the ultimate, bullet-proof secret that guarantees non-stop in-flow of cash into you bank account month after month.

What is the secret? Very simple. Master the system. Then start to repeat it over and again. And as you continue to repeat it, start improving on it. As you improve on it, more cash will be finding its way into your bank account. Just like that!

By now, I’m sure that it would have crossed your mind a couple of times that the Invisible Paymaster is not so invisible after all. It would’ve occurred to you that the only thing invisible about it is the ‘hard work’ that you put in, in the background, that many don’t see. And that made them to draw the wrong conclusion that there is a benign entity that just fills your bank account with raw cash without you rendering quality service or selling valuable product.

What mistake, you ask? It’s the mistake of leaving things too late? Of missing out on a good thing while it lasts and living to regret it later on.
